FUEGO!

We had a little excitement in the neighborhood last night. We had just started to play a game of cribbage ( cards) and Alicia, our neighbor, pounded on the kitchen window yelling something, which we weren't sure at the time what.. We jumped up and ran outside to see the field across the street from us on fire. Several us were trying to fill buckets, with no water pressure, some shoveling dirt onto the fire while waiting for the firetruck. Must say that my heart was beating hard. The field is very large and full of dried brush, weeds, and trash. We are very thankful that the wind was not blowing, as it could have been worse than what it was. We did finally get back to the cribbage game which turned into an embarrassing skunk for Jeff and a point of gloating for me. Please enjoy the pictures posted. Hector is our neighbor to the west of us, and he has been working on the brick wall between us. Quite a bricklayer! Tomorrow we are going to start doing some work and painting in Candy and Beto's large kitchen. It is a well used gathering place for fellowship, so we feel that they are very deserving of some help. Dios te bendiga!
