Another busy week has flown by. I have been meeting with a young lady a couple of times a week to help her with her English. Myrna is a beautiful, shy, straight A student, the only pitfall in her education is her English. Inspite of her shyness, I think she is becoming comfortable with me, as she is using her English more and more each time we meet. The young people can be very critical of each other when their peers don't get pronounciations correct. That is probably the reason that she is not getting A's in English as well.
We welcomed a mission team from Canada to the Dream Center on Saturday. They had been in San Carlos for about 10 days, working in the villages with Brenda, a women who also has a local mission ministry. She works close with Tito and Judy and brings her teams to the Dream Center to serve when possible. The team looked tired, sunburned, and yet enthused about serving the Lord. They were getting ready to head home today.
The pastor with the team, was Irish, so we heard a powerful message with a distinct Irish accent.
Yesterday was Judy's birthday. We had a celebration in the courtyard after services. Good food, good fellowship!
There have been a couple of cruise ships in the port about a week apart. Guaymas has been working hard on the waterfront to welcome and encourage tourism. We went to the waterfront when the first ship arrived to see all of the excitement. It was fun to talk with the travelors. There were booths with locals selling their wares. Beautiful artwork! Maybe I have mentioned this previously?
Time to go meet with Myrna. She is helping me with Spanish, as well. Photos later.
