Realized that we hadn't posted anything in about a week. WOW! It has been a quick week. Last night we got a wonderful blessing, as our neighbors, Alicia and Jesus, hooked up to wireless and allowed us to use their password, so we now can internet from our home! We don't have to drag the laptop all over the city, hopefully we will post more often. They are the sweetest little family and have been such a gift. They have brought food over to us on several occasions and have told us not to hesitate if we need anything. Communication is a bit of a struggle, but with our Spanish/English dictionaries and Franklin translator, we are able to figure out most conversations. Sure have been wishing that I would have taken Senor Hinderman's Spanish class in school!
Today we painted at Candi and Beto's and will try to finish tomorrow with their kitchen. It is a bit more than just painting, as the salt air here does a bit of damage to the concrete. We did a fair amount of scraping and patching before we could actually do any painting. The day was great fun with lots of laughs, great food, and accomplishment. Candi is fluent in English, Beto and their daughter, Priscila, speak and understand some. Pastor Arturo, fondly known as King Arthur, was there helping with the project as well. I will try to post pictures, although I haven't been real successful in that. Don't know what the problem is.
