Once again my lack of computer skills are showing up. I can't seem to load any photos onto this blog. We have been here almost 3 weeks with a flurry of activites. We have served at the Dream Center 3 Saturday mornings. Many have come to be fed, both the Word and nutrition. This past Saturday there were about 150 bowls of frijoles, eggs, tortillas, rice, bread and more served. It never seems that there will be enough food to feed the long line of those waiting, but God provides and all are fed and most receive seconds.
We brought a turkey down with us and yesterday after the church service enjoyed eating it with the congregation in the courtyard at the church. The children then got to break a pinata. What fun it was watching them!
In the afternoon we headed out to the village of Los Cerritos for the evening service there. We had not been there yet this trip. It was a great service with Oskar sharing the message and reconnecting with our friends out there. There were about 23 people for the service plus those of us who came out from the city. The church looks great. It still needs a roof on the newest part of it. In God's time.
On January 1st, I had the priviledge of traveling to the village of El Triunfo Santa Rosa with the Casa de Esperanza ministry and a team they were hosting from Winkler Manitoba. The village is a camp where people who work in the fields live. They had a well organized clothing distribution, a childrens ministry with balloons, games and songs, and to end the evening the Jesus film was shown on the side of one of the buildings. I couldn't help but notice the incredible star covered sky that night. What a great day.
We also were invited to come along one evening when this same ministry had a backpack handout in one of the churchs in Guaymas. I'm not sure what all was in the packs. It was just before Christmas, I'm guessing that there may have some toys and snacks in them.
I could go on and on, but will end for now. Hopefully I can figure out how to post photos, if not I would love to show you them when we return.
Be blessed and a blessing!
