We have been here a little over 6 weeks now. My how time flies! I believe the reason that I have not been able to post any pictures on this blog is a matter of confidentiality.
We manage to stay busy most days, but also have days where we wonder what we are suppose to be doing. So we just listen. It is amazing what you hear when you are quiet and listen. Enjoy your surroundings. And trust.
Our friends gave us a great devotional book, "Jesus Calling" written as if He wrote it. The following is the devotion reading from the other day.
"I am renewing your mind. When your thoughts flow freely, they tend to move toward problems. Your focus gets snagged on a given problem, circling round and round it in attempts to gain mastery. Your energy is drained away from other matters through this negative focus. Worst of all, you lose sight of me.
A renewed mind is Presence-focused. Train your mind to seek Me in every moment, every situation. Sometimes you can find Me in your surroundings, a lilting birdsong, a loved one's smile, golden sunlight. At other times, you must draw inward to find Me. I am always present in your spirit. Seek My face, speak to Me, and I will light up your mind."
Romans 12:2; Psalm 105:4

Once again my lack of computer skills are showing up. I can't seem to load any photos onto this blog. We have been here almost 3 weeks with a flurry of activites. We have served at the Dream Center 3 Saturday mornings. Many have come to be fed, both the Word and nutrition. This past Saturday there were about 150 bowls of frijoles, eggs, tortillas, rice, bread and more served. It never seems that there will be enough food to feed the long line of those waiting, but God provides and all are fed and most receive seconds.
We brought a turkey down with us and yesterday after the church service enjoyed eating it with the congregation in the courtyard at the church. The children then got to break a pinata. What fun it was watching them!
In the afternoon we headed out to the village of Los Cerritos for the evening service there. We had not been there yet this trip. It was a great service with Oskar sharing the message and reconnecting with our friends out there. There were about 23 people for the service plus those of us who came out from the city. The church looks great. It still needs a roof on the newest part of it. In God's time.
On January 1st, I had the priviledge of traveling to the village of El Triunfo Santa Rosa with the Casa de Esperanza ministry and a team they were hosting from Winkler Manitoba. The village is a camp where people who work in the fields live. They had a well organized clothing distribution, a childrens ministry with balloons, games and songs, and to end the evening the Jesus film was shown on the side of one of the buildings. I couldn't help but notice the incredible star covered sky that night. What a great day.
We also were invited to come along one evening when this same ministry had a backpack handout in one of the churchs in Guaymas. I'm not sure what all was in the packs. It was just before Christmas, I'm guessing that there may have some toys and snacks in them.
I could go on and on, but will end for now. Hopefully I can figure out how to post photos, if not I would love to show you them when we return.
Be blessed and a blessing!

Lord, lead the way!

The truck is loaded and ready to go. We will be taking off early in the morning to return to Guaymas Mexico. We thank everyone for their prayers, support, and well wishes. I will keep this blog update as often as possible.
Bendiciones!

It was an appreciation dinner for Pastor Javier.

Molliann and our neighbor Alicia.

This man wanted his picture taken with his breakfast.

Just a few pictures to share. Molliann is here from Nebraska and we have had several busy, but fun days! She will be heading for home on Friday.
As you can see from these pictures, we are not going hungry. Quite the opposite!!!

Thank you for your continued prayers. God is good!

A Canadian, a Mexican, and an American serving together at the Dream Center on Saturday.

Another long line waiting for food to be served.

Serving the children.

Maddie brought some dolls for the little girls who come to the Dream Center.

We had lunch with the Cota family on Sunday. This is Seb and Lex.
Most of their children are bilingual. Seb has a busy construction business and has work all around the state of Sonora.
What a beautiful family.

Good morning all!

We listened to a message the other day by Tito and Judy's Pastor Dave from Idaho. In his sermon he made the statement " the definition of a good friend is someone who knows everything about you and still loves you." I pray that I am that kind of a friend and so thankful for my friends.

Yesterday was spent in the village of Los Cerritos pouring a concrete sidewalk on the northside of the church and digging in a water line for a future garden. Casa de Esperanza is hosting a team from Carlyle, Saskatchewan, Canada  who organized the project. What a great group of people! Families, teens, some on their first mission trip.

Monday evening we went with Oscar to the drug and alcohol rehab center where he has been doing a ministry for a couple of years. The ages of those being served were 14 to mid 50's. Tito and Judy gave them a powerful message of love. These people were so hurting and accepting of our presence, prayers, hugs and kisses. Many tears flowed knowing that someone cared enough to visit them and pray with them. Luke 6:37

There is so much more that I could share, but in another post. Time to jump into the day.
Installing the forms for the concrete. The sidewalk is 78 ft. x 3 ft.

We don't mix concrete much this way anymore do we?

A little finishing touch on the doorway.

After the work was done, the team did some ministry with the people of the village. The children had a craft and story time.

A hot game of soccer in the street. There were only a few casualities and lots of dust.

The Canadian team brought a ton of clothing for distribution.

Much hard work went into this sidewalk.

The women made a pearl bead necklace.

Oooops!
